Nitra regional tourism destination organization was established on the basis of Act No. 91/2010 Coll. on the Promotion of Tourism in October 2021 as a legal entity that supports and creates conditions for the development of tourism in the region and protects the interests of its members. The members of the Nitra regional tourism destination are: the higher territorial unit – the Nitra Self-Governing Region and four local tourism destination organizations operating on its territory – the Nitra local tourism destination organization, the local tourism destination organization Tekov, the local tourism destination organization Štúrovo – Parkan and the local tourism destination organization Podunajsko.

The main purpose of the Nitra regional tourism destination organization is to present and promote the destination of the Nitra region at home and abroad and especially to increase the number of visitors to the regions of the region through active cooperation with local tourism destination organizations. Our priority is to create conditions for the development of tourism in the territory of the Nitra Region and the local organizations, tourism products, the implementation of marketing campaigns, organizing and supporting events not only of regional but also of national importance.

Through the creation of tourism products, the implementation of marketing campaigns and the organization of events, we strive to promote cultural, social and sporting life and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of our region.

Under the brand „Across the region“ we present the Nitra region as a region of history, sun, water and wine so that every visitor can experience what suits them best, spend a few days here and always come back.

From May 1, 2022, the organization became the national coordinator of the European Cultural Route of St. Cyril and Methodius. In 2021, the Cyril and Methodius Route became one of the 48 certified cultural routes of the Council of Europe. It is the first cultural route recognised by the Council of Europe focusing on Slavic cultural heritage.
