Nature Ferraty Zobor
Via ferrata routes below the summit of Pyramída combine climbing with views of Nitra. The site offers routes of varying difficulty and a cable bridge. A helmet, harness and via ferrata lanyard with an energy absorber are required.
History Zobor Monastery
The remains of Zobor Monastery at the foot of Zobor Hill recall the lives of the Benedictine and later Camaldolese monks who lived here. The site is associated with the Zobor Charters of 1111 and 1113, among Slovakia’s oldest surviving written documents. Augmented reality recreates the former monastery church and a Camaldolese monk’s dwelling, offering a glimpse into everyday monastic life.
History Nitra Castle
The centrepiece of Nitra Castle is St Emmeram’s Cathedral, with its rich Baroque decoration and restored Gothic fresco. The Diocesan Museum explores the history of Christianity and displays treasures from the cathedral. The casemates reveal traces of prehistoric and early medieval settlement on the castle hill. During summer, the Gothic Moat hosts concerts, film screenings and other cultural events.
History Topoľčianky Castle
Set in an English-style park, this former summer residence welcomed the Habsburgs and later Czechoslovak presidents, including T. G. Masaryk. In its neoclassical wing, you can explore period interiors featuring historic furniture, paintings, and collections of ceramics and porcelain. A particular highlight is the preserved castle library, containing more than 14,000 volumes.
Water Thermal Park Nitrava Poľný Kesov
The original thermal swimming pool has been replaced by a modern complex with 10 pools filled with thermal and normal water and a wellness centre open all year round. During the summer season, visitors can enjoy a large aquapark, where young and old alike can have fun. Children will enjoy the various attractions of the water castle or the lazy river. The relaxation pool with highly mineralised salt water, which is beneficial for skin and hair diseases, osteoporosis, but also benefits the vascular system, health of joints, cartilage and connective tissues, is also an attraction.
Vineyards Predium Winery Vráble
A winemaking family from Moravia and a native of Nitra chose Vráble and its surroundings, whose vineyards and excellent wine have been famous since ancient times, and built a modern organic winery. The winery is surrounded by vineyards and combines elements of modern architecture with traditional ones. Wine lovers can taste wine made from grapes with guaranteed provenance from the Vrabel wine-growing region along with experiential gastronomy in the Semillon restaurant.
